It was a beautiful summer morning in Burg, Spreewald in Germany. Thomas and Josie are to exchange their vows this day. As the busy bustle of the bride and groom transpire I could not help but notice the glow in both their eyes. Truly weddings are a public declaration of love towards the person you choose to commit your life to. When photographing couples, it’s sometimes a challenge for them to loosen up and just enjoy because of the pressure the wedding day brings on both of them. Surprisingly, Thomas and Josie were so relaxed and it was easy to photograph and capture the moments throughout the day. Their families were also just as relaxed, perhaps it’s part of their culture. It was my first time to witness a traditional German wedding. I loved the little details of cutting through a piece of cloth with small scissors, tradition of family games, tradition of hats and other little details that make it so intimate and personal.
It was such a beautiful wedding, i’m very honored to have captured heartfelt moments of Thomas and Josie alongside their family and friends. They’re my first friends here in Berlin and I’ve witnessed how God has orchestrated their union.
With friends and family they celebrated with good food, wine, in nature and love, a weekend to remember forever.
Herzlichen Glückwunsch an das neue Paar!
